Volley Raiders advance to Saturday's region round

The Madison County Volleyball Raiders stayed alive in the region tournament by defeating Eastside 2-0 on Thursday night in Monroe. Madison County lost in the opening match of the tournament 0-2 to Lanier by set scores of 17-25 and 14-25. The Raiders then took a deep breath and rebounded to defeat Eastside in two sets (25-22 and 25-14) to advance to Saturday's round. Madison and Eastside battled through three ties in the first set before pulling off the win and Ariel Jones knocked down three serve points to end the second set with a Raider win. 
Madison County will play at 10 a.m. Saturday at Monroe Area High School.
